Tool(s) Learned: Articulate 360; Storyline 360
Project Title: The Evolution of the English Language
Project Description and Deliverables
For my final project, I created an interactive e-learning module using Articulate Storyline 360. The module is titled “The Evolution of the English Language,” and it teaches learners how English developed from Old English to Modern English. The lesson is designed as a guided interactive timeline that helps learners explore the four major stages of English: Old English, Middle English, Early Modern English, and Modern English.
The final project includes a welcome slide, an introduction, clickable learning objectives, a timeline navigation screen, content slides for each language period, historical examples, voice-over narration, animations, knowledge checks, feedback, a summary slide, and a completion screen. Learners are able to move through the timeline, click interactive elements, review key ideas, and complete short quiz activities that reinforce the main concepts.
The main learning goal of this project is for learners to understand that English did not develop in one simple step. Instead, it changed over time because of migration, invasion, printing, literature, trade, colonization, globalization, media, and technology. By the end of the module, learners should be able to identify the four major stages of English, describe how historical events influenced vocabulary and spelling, and connect earlier forms of English to the language used today.
Throughout the project, I focused on learning how to use Storyline 360 to create a more engaging digital lesson. I practiced using triggers, layers, buttons, states, animations, audio narration, navigation controls, and quiz feedback. My goal was to move beyond a static presentation and create a structured e-learning experience that includes interaction, learner guidance, and visual design.

Final Reflection on Contract Updates:
My original contract focused mainly on creating an interactive timeline about the history of English. As the project developed, I revised the contract to better reflect the final version of the lesson. The completed project now includes more interactive and multimedia elements than I originally planned, including clickable learning objectives, animated slides, narration, knowledge checks, feedback, and clearer navigation. These updates helped turn the project from a simple timeline into a more complete e-learning module.
